About Glendale

The homestead which was rebuilt after a fire in the 1920s is a typical farm house made from rimu, with wood panelled entrance, spacious kitchen and living areas.

Glendale homestead has three bedrooms- The main room has a queen and single bed, the middle room has two sets of bunks, and the end room has a double and single bed (sleeps 10 when full). The lounge has an open fire place, with a mix of carpet and wood (rimu) flooring. There is no television reception, but a TV and DVD player are provided so bring along any of your favourite dvd's or cd's. We have a selection as well and you can also hire some if you wish from town. The large kitchen is fully equiped (stove, fridge/freezer, microwave) and there is also a BBQ for outdoor cooking. The bathroom contains an old style claw-foot bath and the toilet. A separate shower is in the laundry.

The homestead is situated beside the Te Arai river and is set in large grounds great for outdoor games. The front verandar overlooks paddocks for cattle grazing and cropping, and the surrounding hills are both pastoral and pine plantation.
