We have 17 serviced units nestled in a peaceful location between the mountains and the sea, yet only a few minutes walk to downtown Avarua. The terrace, bar, lounge and upper deck have breathtaking lagoon and ocean views and are yours for relaxing, whale watching, meeting people or enjoying a meal al fresco. A beach before the reef offers our visitors the prospect of sunbathing, a stroll along the beach, low tide reef walking and spotting starfish, coral and the small, colorful reef fish that populate the lagoon.
Paradise Inn is the ideal central base from which to explore Rarotonga and the perfect place to retreat to at the end of the day. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff can help you with organizing tours, transport, activities, special events and we have wide range of information on hand about the island. The shops, bars and cafes of Avarua are within five minutes walking distance at the slow Cook Islands pace. Several excellent restaurants, the National Museum, Library and Cultural Centre are just a short stroll away and a small grocer is on hand at the edge of the property for incidental supplies.
Our self contained standard units can each accommodate a maximum of three people. We also have one ideal family unit for four people, two single self contained units and a private, ocean front loft apartment for two. To maintain the peaceful atmosphere of the Paradise Inn we do not usually accommodate children under the age of 12 years, however exceptions can be made in some cases so please ask us. Airport transfers can be arranged for you at any hour.
As the sun sets, enjoy a sundowner on the terrace with a drink from the last “Honesty Bar” in the South Pacific where cocktails and tall tales are the order of the evening.

Marama Standard Rooms 12 split level self contained rooms each with a good sized downstairs living room comprising a dining and kitchenette area, shower and separate toilet plus a single bed and wardrobe recess. The spiral staircase leads up to the mezzanine floor which is the main sleeping area with double bed or twin beds. The kitchenette has sufficient equipment for you to prepare your own meals as you choose: a small refrigerator, sink and bench, a two burner gas cooker, kettle, toaster, cutlery, crockery and cooking utensils. Each unit is cooled by an overhead fan and natural ventilation through the upper louver windows. Fresh towels and serviced daily except Sunday.
Moemoea Single Rooms Two single ground level rooms are available for discerning travellers. Each single room is self contained with a small kitchenette and has an ensuite shower and toilet. Manea Family Room On the upper level of the hotel, the Manea Family Room is made up of two double rooms with interconnecting doors making this suitable for families or small groups of four people. Each room has an ensuite shower and toilet, and one of the rooms has a kitchenette and cooking facilities.. Each room of the Manea Family Room has a double bed and a single bed. There is also a private balcony facing the mountain. Please note that we do not usually accommodate children under the age of 12 years, however exceptions can be made in some cases so please ask us. Moana Loft Apartment The loft apartment is the Paradise Inn’s most exclusive accommodation. Set on the upper level overlooking the ocean, this split level apartment comprises a downstairs living area with kitchen, a separate bathroom with shower and toilet, an intimate private balcony with dining table for two and a mezzanine sleeping area with queen size bed and magnificent views to the mountain on one side and the ocean on the other. Sea breezes enter the apartment through French doors maintaining a delightfully cool freshness even on the hottest of tropical days and evenings. The Moana Loft Apartment is set apart from the hotel’s other units and has a unique romantic and private ambience especially for couples. Those that experience a stay in the “love-nest” are guaranteed to spend most of their stay with a smile on their faces that will last all the way home.
